IF YOUR WATER BILL ISN’T PAID AND YOU OWE IT LONG ENOUGH, YOU MAY HAVE TROUBLE SELLING YOUR APARTMENT.

 

So let me break this down for you, most strati has one meter that goes into any complex and then you have sub meters for all the apartments or the units within that complex.

  • If you forfeit on paying your maintenance feeThis is a monthly fee paid by the proprietor of a strata lot... More, which has your water also wrapped up, the strata cannot pay their bills and the water will be disconnected .

This can also, over time lead to a run-down apartment.

Think about that pregnant woman that lives on the third floor or that old lady who is sick and can’t take care of herself.

Water is life, remember that and if the complex has backed-water bills, everybody in that complex may have a problem selling a unit.

So you decide after year that you want to move, sell this place and get your money. It won’t happen. All the maintenance fees will have to be paid. Remember, water runs with a line so the water runs with your apartment.

You’re attorney may have to give an undertaking to clear up these expenses before you can sell your unit.
